5/16/2005 ...did someone say...

Heeee, I LOVE my birthday. I always have and probably always will. I'm going to be 36 this year (tomorrow actually). THIRTY-SIX!

When I was in junior high/high school we were talking about the fast approaching year 2000. The teacher told us that most of us would be would be 31 (is my math right?!) when the clock struck 2000. I seriously thought to myself...I won't even be ALIVE then. 30 sounded so old. Now that I'm here, and have actually passed that, it's not so bad after all.

This weekend we celebrated the day of my birth. My friends surprised me with a FULL weekend of activities.

Friday--Be ready at 5:30 p.m. to be picked up and taken...somewhere

I love surprises...or so I thought. Come to find out, surprises that invovle having to dress a certain way or bring certain things make me a little nervous. However, I have the best friends EVER and trust them explicitly (heh, okay explicitly is a strong word...). So I was instructed to dress nicely. When asked if khakis were okay Laura said "um, well, yeah I guess so" which made me nervous. Then Laura suggested I let her go through my closet to pick an outfit. Um, I draw the line there...(sorry Laura) so I picked some nice black slacks and a button down pink shirt.

I was picked up and taken to Long Beach. I still had no idea what we were doing. I had mentioned that I'd like to go to the aquarium, but it was closed. In the car I had been given a "clue" which was a DVD of 3 Sherlock Holmes episodes which made me guess, oooo, mystery dinner theater. Laura: "what would make you say that?" Me: "um, Sherlock Holmes, we're going to dinner." (Elementary my dear Pratt-son) Hehehehehe. I have to admit though, that because Linda gets seasick, I was still confused when we started walking by the docks. Laura asked if I had any idea and I suggested "we're having dinner on the Queen Mary?"...cuz that boat doesn't move!

Then, on dock 4 we boarded this boat, The Grand Romance for a cruise around the harbor and a murder myster dinner! Excellent!

We started out with drinks and mingling on the deck. We saw a few of the 5 characters.
