What will you do on New Years Eve? Will you follow the tradition of millions and watch “a flashing ball sliding down a flagpole”?? Have you thought that tradition was lame? Here’s your chance to come up with an alternative to the boring, tired New Years tradition. I’m pretty sure I’ve got a good chance at the SPAM!! http://buildabetterball.blogspot.com/
I think I’ve got all my Christmas shopping done, at least I can’t think of anything I need to get that I haven’t, so that’s something. Tomorrow we’re having an early dinner with friends, and my mom is coming down later in the evening. Also, a friend’s son should be getting his mission call tomorrow, so we’re excited about that and may stop by to see where he is going.
I’ll go to a special Christmas church service on Sunday. I don’t know when we’ll open presents, before or after. I can try to be patient, but I’m not very good at it. Patience isn’t exactly my strongest trait, but the girls are in the choir (I opted out this year since my friend isn’t leading it) so they have to be there early, like 8:30-ish. Ugh… So we’ll see.
This month the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Joseph Smith. For those of you that do not know, he restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth in the early 1800s and was the first modern day prophet for our church. As you can imagine this is quite a milestone. Tonight I am going to watch a broadcast by our church leaders and it should be a great!
My friend has a bunch of gift certificates, namely $600 to Pottery Barn, among others so I think we’re going to try to go to the mall after the broadcast to spend…spend…spend! She’s also got one for Restoration Hardware which I LOVE! I’m looking forward to spending free money with her, but not so much the crowds. [hopeful chuckle] Maybe it won’t be so bad…
